Student Health and Wellness (SHaW) supports the educational mission of the University and enables student success by fostering the optimal well-being of all UConn students. Our Advice Nurse line provides 24/7 access to a registered nurse for free, confidential health guidance to help students make informed care decisions on campus.
Pharmacy
Provides convenient access to prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, and pharmacist support to help students manage their health on campus.

University Closures or Cancellation of Classes
When there is cancelation of classes, delayed opening or early dismissal, Student Health and Wellness (SHaW) Hilda May Williams building will remain open to provide limited essential services. Appointments previously scheduled during this time will be canceled. Students should check their email for secure messaging about their appointment status. For additional questions about your medical appointment, please call 860-486-4700.

Excuse Notes/ Letters to Support Student Success
Consistent with the by-laws of the University Senate which indicate that medical documentation cannot be required for missed assignments, Student Health and Wellness cannot provide a note that excuses a student from class or academic responsibilities. Students may be provided with a letter to support their success for different reasons such as petitioning for accommodation services, to make legal name and/or gender changes or other situations in which a clinical point of reference can support the student. Storrs Students
You can self schedule appointments for injury, illness, or immunizations services online at myhealth.uconn.edu. You can also call 860-486-4700, option 1, option 1 – medical appointments or option 2 – mental health appointments to schedule any service offered at Student Health and Wellness.

Student Health and Wellness offers preventive services to help students stay healthy and catch concerns early, including primary care, mental health screenings, wellness coaching, and skin care education.
